Who Should attend
|
You are in middle or senior management or equivalent who recently took on a new management role. If you have not attended or been scheduled to attend CSC’s milestone programmes, you are highly recommended to attend. You will be invited to take part in a short survey to help us better understand your profile and learning needs.

Leading from the Middle is a 4 day (plus three 1-day follow-up Action Learning Sets), flagship programme that is fully dedicated to support the leadership development of middle managers in transition. At each transition individuals face significant challenges which demand a shift in perspective and an expanded skill set. This programme offers premium leadership content and experienced facilitators and seeks to support middle managers by providing a dedicated space for you to focus on your personal leadership development.
Objectives
By the end of the programme, you will achieve the following:
- Gain an honest appraisal of your leadership strengths and development needs and recognise potential career-derailment hazards
- Understand the impact of your individual leadership and interpersonal behaviours on your work group's and organisation’s effectiveness.
- Enhance your ability to give and receive constructive feedback, and to build high performing teams.
- Understand and evaluate the implications of your preferred leadership style for influencing and inspiring others.
- Facilitate teams through periods of change
- Learn how to foster greater team effectiveness
- Adopt a systems-view on organisational issues, align team goals/interests with the larger system and establish collaborative relationships with others
Key Themes:
The programme will be feedback-intensive, highly experiential and action-oriented with some key skills training and practice. Content will be interwoven with small group facilitated discussions to apply the content to participants’ own contexts. Peer learning and transfer of learning are supported in the context of Action Learning Sets. (See FAQs)
